Two weeks...and counting!

I have been in Piney Point, MD (2.5 hours outside of Baltimore) for about two weeks and have completed my training for the cruise ship. I'm one of three, soon to be two, activities hosts waiting to board the ships in Hawaii. I graduated last night and am stuck here for another week because I have to wait to get my MMD card (which is my legal document stating that I'm capable of working aboard an American ship).

It has been a breeze so far. For the past week, I have had an afternoon nap and have been done with classes at 4 p.m. or earlier! This is definitely a DREAM come true.

Since I've been here, I've managed to meet so many different people from a variety of backgrounds. I have met people from other countries including Canada, England, Jamaica, Peru, Chile and Mexico...just to name a few. And several people from other United States including Hawaii, Michigan, Louisiana, New York, Maryland, Oklahoma and Colorado. They all have interesting backgrounds...some including criminal activities...others including professional dancing (with poles)! It's quite a melting pot here to say the least. I can't believe I have been so naive...you've got to get out of Kansas City to experience what America truly is and to realize the basis upon which it stands.
